About the Role
A raw materials distribution company we have a vacancy for a Shipping & Purchasing Officer at our Office in Enfield NSW. You will be responsible for managing the Import Shipments & some Purchasing functions. This position reports to The Procurement Manager
The Purpose of the Position is:
- Responsible for all import shipments into Australia and NZ.
- Liaise with Shipping companies, Freight Forwarders & Overseas suppliers.
- Managing shipping documentation including customs clearance, invoices, letter of credits & Forward foreign exchange contracts
- Ensuring cargo is cleared and safely delivered to the warehouses.
- Develop, implement and monitor operations procedures to ensure the accurate and timely recording of inventory in the system.
- Assist Procurement manager on raising orders with foreign suppliers.
- Motivated to develop more efficient systems.
About You:
Ideally you may have worked with import Clearance, Freight Forwarders or Purchasing Functions. However, the company is open to encourage candidates who are motivated, organized & proactive who may have worked in Customer service or Accounting functions.
