About the Role
We are looking for a Production Operator to join the team at our Northam Flour Mill. This is an entry-level role working with a rotating roster shift patter, including a Morning and Afternoon shift.
This is a hands-on role where you will set up, troubleshoot, and optimise the line to meet set targets, KPI's and quality standards to ensure that our products are made to a high-quality standard in a safe, efficient and cost-effective manner.
Responsibilities will include:
- Operating machinery safely and efficiently, according to Standard Operating Procedures
- Meeting and following quality and food safety standards and policies
- Participating in production including blending of flour and filling of Bulk Flour packing bins
- Ensuring all shift reports are accurately completed.
- A continuously focus on improving safety, quality, service levels and cost.
- Using appropriate PPE to work in a safe manner and following manual handling techniques.
About You
To be successful in this role you must have:
- A valid Forklift licence.
- The ability to work both day and afternoon shift times.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A strong commitment to creating a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Ability to work as part of a team across departments.
The following is desirable:
- An interest in the milling and bakery business.
- Knowledge of food safety systems (HACCP) and Good Manufacturing Practice (BRC).
