About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Control Technician to join our Ballarat team in a full-time contracted role. This is a hands‑on position ideal for a someone who is eager to learn and contribute to product quality and validation activities at Mauri's newest flour mill.
This role will play a key part in maintaining product quality and supporting validation activities during a defined project period. Reporting to the site's Quality Manager, you will also be supported by experienced quality professionals across the business and exposed to unique skills and testing methods within flour milling.
Onboarding will include 2 weeks of structured training at the Enfield site in Sydney.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform hands‑on product validation and routine quality testing
- Support the temporary relocation, setup, and operation of quality testing equipment
- Conduct NIR (Near Infra-Red Spectroscopy) scanning of samples, following established SOPs.
- Accurately record, report, and maintain quality and validation data.
- Assist with reference testing, calibration, and validation activities as required.
- Comply with all food safety, quality, hygiene, and OHS requirements.
About You
We are looking for someone with a strong aptitude and willingness for hands‑on testing and practical work. The ideal candidate must have a positive attitude and genuine interest in learning new and specialised laboratory techniques.
We are open to candidates at different stages of their career, including recent graduates.
The suitable candidate will possess:
- Strong hands‑on aptitude with a positive attitude.
- Eagerness to learn new and specialised laboratory techniques.
- An ability to follow procedures, work accurately, and document results clearly.
- Previous laboratory or quality experience.
- Exposure to NIR testing or similar analytical techniques (desirable).
- A background in food manufacturing, food science, or chemistry
