About the Role
The Commercial Business Partner plays a pivotal role in driving strategic decision-making and commercial performance across the business through quality financial and commercial analysis.
This role provides considered and credible commercial business partnering support to the Sales, Finance, Product Innovation and Marketing teams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering timely, accurate financial and analytical support to evaluate strategic options and guide commercial strategy
- Generating actionable insights to identify financial opportunities, mitigate risks, and support informed decision-making across the business
- Leveraging advanced analytics tools (e.g. Tableau, Alteryx) and exploring AI-driven solutions to automate reporting and deepen insights
- Partnering with senior stakeholders to advise on pricing, volume, and channel strategies, ensuring alignment with forecasted targets
- Leading the budgeting and forecasting process for the Commercial team, including tracking risks and opportunities with clarity and precision
- Preparing weekly and monthly performance reports with insightful commentary on trends, challenges, and opportunities
- Supporting pricing evaluations, business cases, and tender submissions with robust financial modelling and post-launch reviews
- Collaborating on New Product Development (NPD) projects, ensuring commercial viability and conducting post-launch performance analysis
- Assisting with debtor management and credit control to maintain healthy financial metrics
- Reviewing and authorising SAP pricing file updates and rebate agreements with speed and accuracy
- Partnering with Product Innovation and Marketing on customer-led initiatives, providing ROI analysis and category review support
Lead sustainable change:
- Driving continuous improvement by streamlining reporting processes and eliminating non-value-adding activities
- Act as change agent by promoting Finance change vision to business leaders, ensuring changes are understood and implemented smoothly, with minimal disruption to BU operations
- Identify opportunities for improvements in process/reporting and work with relevant stakeholders to implement
Team Leadership:
- Help build a high performing team, motivate team members to raise the bar and deliver their best work
- Contribute actively to shared goals, foster a collaborative and supportive environment
About You
- 5+ years' experience in commercial or accounting roles, partnering with Senior stakeholders and a passion for customer experience
- A commercially astute finance professional with a tertiary qualification in Commerce or Economics, and CA or CPA accreditation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly identify solutions and provide meaningful insights
- Proven communication and presentation skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial information simply
- Proven experience working with SAP (ECC & BW), MS Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau, and Alteryx
- Confident engaging with stakeholders at all levels, with a proven ability to influence and build effective relationships
- Experience in manufacturing environments is a bonus
