About the Role
We are currently seeking a Packing Operative to safely operate packing equipment within the packing hall to maximise quality and efficiency within the quality and food safety management system. This is a full-time permanent position based in Toowoomba, Qld. Additionally, we are looking for a person who has the ability to do rotating shift work (morning 05:30-13:30, afternoon 13:30 – 21:30, and evenings 21:30 – 05:30) where shifts will rotate each week.
Reporting to the Production Leader, your core responsibilities will include operation of a liquid line production and batching process also a dry line manufacturing and bagging process; where all products have the correct expiry dates and batch codes and all products are screened through metal detectors to ensure there is no metal contamination.
In addition, you will ensure Export recipes are accurate and quality of ingredient is within allowable limits and recorded and used as outlined in the recipe.
Additional Responsibilities Include:
- Complete CCP checks as per procedure
- Communicate all breakdowns to Supervisor
- Ensure thorough clean down of equipment as and when required
- Observe equipment and Packing operation
- Where required, all labels for mixed products are created accurately
The ideal candidate will have exceptional attention to detail, excellent communication & interpersonal skills, the ability to communicate to both customers and other departments and is highly self-organised, a team player and able to listen to and take instructions. You will also have:
- Forklift Licence (Essential)
- Certification of 3 or 4 Food processing (Advantageous)
- First Aid Certificate (Desirable)
- Machine Operating experience (desirable)
