About the Role
The Milling Assistant is an operative within the Mill who is engaged with the operation of a running our grain conditioning process, along with supporting the Miller with any associated with the effective running of the flour mill, including milling, packing, wheat kibbling and any associated processes.
Some of the responsibilities include:
- Operate and monitor the grain conditioning machinery and equipment in line with the daily schedule, including the navigation of the PLC production system, conducting wheat silo transfers and making production adjustments, where necessary.
- Conduct regular quality checks, including moisture readings, monitoring of grain condition and management of critical control points such as inline magnets.
- Collaborate with the production team to meet daily production targets, which includes the provision of daily shifts reports and bin measurements.
- Ensuring proper cleaning procedures are followed to maintain product quality and prevent contamination of ingredients or products.
- Managing tasks effectively to enhance operational efficiency while taking on additional responsibilities as needed.
- Comply with and support company policies and procedures.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment that does not tolerate unsafe behaviour or acts.
Our facility operates 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. This role will have a rotating roster, which includes regular weekend work.
About you
- Experience in a manufacturing role, preferably within the feed, agriculture, or fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector.
- Current forklift licence (desirable).
- Current confined space qualifications (desirable).
- A willingness to learn more about flour production and the milling process, with the view to undertaking supported external qualification training.
