About the Role
A new opportunity is available for a Production Operator to join the team at our flour mill in Port Adelaide. This is a full-time permanent role and is key to the Supply Chain element of the business. The role will be responsible for all packing functions to meet customer demands within business parameters. Ensuring continuous monitoring of the packing operation for optimal performance, while keeping in line with company OHS and quality procedures.
This role functions on a one-week rotating roster with the following shift times: Day Shift (6am - 2pm), Afternoon Shift (2pm - 10pm) and Night Shift (10pm - 6am).
Reporting to the Warehouse & Distribution supervisor your key responsibilities will include:
- Operating counterbalance forklift in a warehouse environment
- To ensure daily production follows the weekly plan to meet sales forecast and customer demands.
- Ensure adequate supplies of packing consumables are always on hand to meet production requirements.
- All products have corrected expiry dates and batch codes
- Loading and unloading trucks, despatch and receiving goods
- Preforming manual handling duties, moving stock, and loading pallets
- Ability to work in a fast-paced food production environment.
- Contribute to a safe workplace, reporting all risks, hazards, hits and near misses while ensuring that all third-party suppliers comply with company polices.
- Excellent communication skills that ensure you can communicate with a wide range of stakeholders.
About You
Our ideal applicant must have a current forklift licence with previous experience operating manufacturing machinery, preferably in a food enviroment.
You will also have the following:
- Team player attitude with the ability to be proactive and work autonomously.
- A working knowledge of computerised systems
- Great literacy and numeracy skills
- Good organisational skills and a methodical approach to work
- Ability to work day, afternoon and night shifts
